Adopt-A-Street

5th Avenue between
Thomas and McDowell Roads

As a participant in the City of Phoenix Adopt-A-Street Program, Valley of the Sun Chapter has a commitment to the City of Phoenix to help clean a mile stretch of roadway. In return, the City keeps a sign posted that states the Valley of Sun Chapter of IAAP has adopted that street.

This is a win-win situation in which the City puts our name on the street and we help the City by helping keep it clean. It gives our chapter an opportunity for community involvement and a great opportunity for fresh air, networking, and exercise.

Chapter members get together a minimum of twice a year to pick up any litter along the roadway. This event is scheduled on two Saturday mornings during the cooler months.

Our next scheduled date is 8 a.m. on Saturday, April 10. Please make a note on your calendar and plan to join us for some exercise, conversation and fun! It usually takes no more than an hour and we are finished before the weather becomes uncomfortable.

Where:   Fifth Avenue between Thomas and McDowell Roads. Meet for the pickup at 5th Avenue and Encanto. Bring some gloves if you like. We'll provide the garbage bags!
